Let me show you not only how to go to boracay but also what to do once you get there in the place we call paradise of the philippines, well almost, there are lot of other beautiful destination and beaches in the island philippines. But lets focus on one of the most beautiful in the philippines and to the world.
A brief introduction...
Boracay is an island located in the middle part of the philippine archipelago. It is a tiny but blessed island that belongs to the Panay group of islands or the Western Vizayas region.
The island was originally home to the Ati tribe in which they call the island bura-ukay eventually evolved into its current name. Formerly undiscovered, it wasn't till the 1970s that tourism began to develop in Boracay, and the island became popular with backpackers in the 1980s.
Years ago, Boracay Island was a well-guarded secret, almost possessively so that only a few knew of its existence.
It was only in the 70s when, it is said, a foreign movie crew accidentally "discovered" this island paradise. Others maintain that it was the German traveler, 'Jens Peters' book, which included rave reviews of Boracay that changed the island’s pace from that of being a quiet secret to eventually being voted as having the best beach in the world.
Whichever story is true, it was around this time that Boracay Island slowly ceased to be a private travelers hangout and eventually became one of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines.
HOW TO GET THERE...
how to go to boracay from the capital Manila?
by land and sea..
im sorry but as of this posting, there is no direct route from Manila to Caticlan Antique but there is some bus line in Cubao that services the route by land although it takes a long time, maybe a day to get there. Once in Caticlan Jetty port, ride a boat that will take you to the island. Or take this route instead, take a bus from Cubao, Quezon City in Metro Manila, to go to Batangas pier then take a ferry to go to Roxas City in Mindoro then another ferry to Caticlan. You might as well check the schedule of 2 major shipping lines, they sometimes have a route from Manila to Caticlan, just google NegrosNavigation and WGA superferry for the schedule, they include this route specially during the summer from april to late june.

NOTE: Due to airport restriction, flight might be rerouted to Kalibo airport in Kalibo Aklan and from there you can take a bus or a chartered van to go to boracay via Caticlan Jetty port.

Boracay's White Beach.

Perhaps enjoy a leisurely boat trip around the island and stop for a picnic on uncrowded and secluded beach. Snorkel the pristine coral reefs and be enthralled by the colorful beauty of marine life that thrives in the clear waters of Boracay. Or you may try the available water sporsts on every beach of the island.
Maybe relax the afternoon under the shade of palm trees and enjoy the beauty of nature. And as the sun's glare begin to fade, prepare yourself for the majestic boracay sunset.
